There are so many great Club Carlson properties in this category, I had to split Europe into four categories to make room for all the deserving properties. For 44,000 points per night (and sometimes less, if you’re staying on a 50% off promo rate), you can stay at hotels that are ranked as some of the best in the world. Here’s the best of Category 5:
North America

You’ll be less than 3 miles from every main attraction: Toronto Convention Centre, Hockey Hall of Fame, Sony Centre for the Performing Arts, Art Gallery of Ontario, Royal Ontario Museum, and more. If you want to venture further out and entertain the kids, the Toronto Zoo is 20 miles from the hotel

Hello Ariana – welcome to the Boarding Area!
Thanks for this list – Hyatt and SPG are my go-to hotel award programs, but with the recent devaluations, I’ve struggled with whom to choose as a number 3 program – hadn’t given Club Carlson much thought, but this certainly helps me to reconsider.
Thank you! I agree – love Hyatt and SPG, but Hilton is on $#*% list right now. Club Carlson is a great third choice, especially for redemptions outside the US.
“Located in the Dubai Marina, the hotel is less than two miles from the Dubai Marina Metro Station” – something wrong here, I think!
I had a really good stay at the Radisson Blu Hamburg Airport last week (review here – http://headforpoints.com/2013/02/18/radisson-blu-hamburg-airport-hotel-review/). Great deal for 19,000 points (50% off at present), got upgraded as a Gold to a business room which meant free breakfast, free pay TV and a Nespresso machine as well. 2 mins to the metro, so even worth thinking about for the whole of a stay in Hamburg.
Whops! You’re right, fixed it. I decided to take airport hotels off the list and focus on properties catering to tourists. I’ve heard great things about the Hamburg hotel and it’s where I grew up, so I almost let my bias cloud my judgment. 🙂
So the Radisson Concon is right next to Valparaiso, Chile – almost stayed there but the tripadvisor reviews were less than inspiring. The Radisson in Sandton, (Joberg) is currently next to a construction site and not too exciting anyway. Heard good things about the Warwick in Philly.
I recently wrote to Club Carlson expressing my gratitude for having an awesome loyalty program that will surely have me moving much of my business to them. I also asked whether there were plans for any other Radisson Blu hotels in the US and was told that rumor has it the Philadelphia one mentioned above will be the next to be converted to a Blu.
I wonder if the decor will change at all. Radisson Blu hotels are much more modern. The Warwick could use a bit of an update…
I just contacted Radisson and according to the CSR the parking for the Fisherman’s Wharf location in San Francisco is not free on award nights. Ideas?
You’re right. The website says “available for a fee” and I misread that for “free.” 🙂 Post has been updated.
