$0 fees on Visa gift cards at Simon Mall!

I haven’t been to my local Simon Mall all week long, after having maxed out all of my credit cards. Now imagine my surprise and delight when I walked in with my dad this morning and noticed a big red sign by the register: All this week, Simon Mall has been waving the $3.95 fee on their Visa gift cards!

Simon Mall Fee-free 5% Back Visa Gift card promotion
$0 fees on Visa Gift cards at Simon Mall!

The promotion started on December 5 and continues until tomorrow. It’s really frustaying that I missed out on this since it could have meant hundreds of dollars in free manufactured spending for a week. Anyway, it’s not too late.

The $0 fee Visa gift card promotion continues through tomorrow. If you’re one of those people who wasn’t able to take advantage of the GiftCard Mall promotion this week, then this is definitely a nice alternative.

  1. Good for you, Ariana. Alas, our local Simon Mall was sold off last year — yet surprised to learn we can now purchase vgc’s via simonmall.com (and with only .49 for usps shipping) (Ok, it’s not quite as cheap as you/we do via giftcards.com, yet nice to have another alternative)

Spouse did manage to get a test order via simonmall.com for one $500 vg card on Thursday — and tah dah, learned that giftcardmall handles the transaction (as they do with Kroger card deals)…. She did get a verification call after the order went through — and so far, all is well.

May also have helped her yesterday, in landing one transaction (fingers crossed) directly for the giftcardmall deal. (using exact same address, cc, email, etc. as worked on the verified deal the day before via simonmall.com …. problem may be that the giftcardmall web site may slightly mess with your address during check out — e.g., changing to 8 digit zip, etc. — and if that doesn’t match exactly what you have on file with your cc company…. well, with the giftcardmall // paypal style lunacy afoot, who knows?)

    1. Call your store to verify. There are reports around the country of Simon Mall running this deal. Even if the sign isn’t up (my store took it down earlier), they still have it.

  2. I don’t know that it does vary by mall. One near me actually sends me an e mail when they have the promotion

  3. How do I liquidate them? My Bluebird was closed by Amex five months ago and Walmart in NJ will not allow me to buy a money order with more than one debit/gift card. The mgr checked the fine print and saw “debit.”

if you dont have Walmart then there is no real opportunity for you in the area. You can thank the others ahead of you who ruined your walmarts

  4. Hi Ariana,
I know you said to play it safe with AmEx and Chase but this gift card promo at the Simon malls was too much to pass up! Especially since I have 2 Simon malls within 30 min of me. I hit my SPG, Arrival+, Freedom Unlimited, even Alaska to the max – this is the most I’ve ever MS’d before. Fingers crossed no issues come of it!

  5. Thanks for the heads up, went to Knoxville west town mall and bought 3×500 Visa card without fee.

  6. I also had a lot of maxed out due to OD and their $300 deal with ink @ 5%. I did just get back buying $20,000 from local Simons.

  7. Ok, I went crazy with this promotion. Quick question what level is adequate on Chase and Amex? đŸ™‚

    1. I don’t know for sure, but in the past I’ve kept my spending to under $5k per card. I do think the income you stated on your card application should be taken into account. For example, if you’re earning 60k a year, it’s probably not a good idea to put that much ms on your card.

  8. This is what I get for not keeping up with you! AHHHG! The problem with Simon Malls is it’s not ‘near by’ but not so far that it would be terrible. But this IS Los Angeles and traffic can be crappy at times. BUT the 2 Simon Malls I’m considering shelpping to both have WalMarts near them. I need to ramp up my spending again to build up miles and points spent on a SE Asia trip we just completed.
