Here’s my attempt at posting about a promoting in a timely manner. Starwood just announced a promotion that isn’t half bad for those who frequently stay at Sheraton hotels. Through September 30, 2015 members will earn free Sheraton weekend night after every fifth paid night. Regardless of whether these nights are consecutive or not. Earnings are capped at three nights total (earned after a total of 15 paid nights). There are a few restrictions on when free nights can be redeemed:
- Free nights can be redeemed at any Sheraton hotel worldwide through December 13, 2015. A weekend night is defined as Friday, Saturday, Sunday nights.
- In the Middle East, Israel (which is in the Middle East but oddly listed separately), Algeria, Malaysia, and Langkawi weekends are defined as Thursday through Saturday.
- There are no blackout dates and free nights can be redeemed whenever a standard room is available, though you’ll have to call customer service to do so.
- The following Sheraton hotels are not participating in this promotion: Sheraton Addis, Algarve, Kuwait, Steamboat Resort Villas, and Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit. Brands not participating in this promotion include Four Points by Sheraton, W, Aloft, The Luxury Collection, Le Méridien, Tribute Portfolio, Element, Westin and St. Regis.
If you book multiple rooms under your SPG account, you’ll receive elite credit for all of them. If you’re staying at multiple Sheraton hotels and they’re as bad as the few I’ve stayed at, ideally you should be rewarded with a free night at a non-Sheraton hotel, but that’s why I’m not in charge of rewards programs (among other reasons).
To qualify for this promotion, members must register by 11:50 PM (ET) on September 15, 2015.
Does this promotion coincide with any paid stays you have coming up?
what does not participating mean? That stays there don’t count? That free nights won’t work there? Both?
Stays at those hotels do not count towards the 5 nights required to earn a reward.
