HR Warsaw is a nice hotel, but I’m not sure how the half mile to old town was measured – it’s a long way from the action, more like 3-4 miles.
@ Ray, it’s on the hotel website…maybe they’re being creative with their distance calculations to appeal to tourists.
Hyatt Danang is quite nice… can’t remember if 2 or 3
@ SBG, that’s good to know. It’s currently a category 2, which is a great value.
First off, thanks for this series of posts. I’ve been wishing someone would do this.
A few edits in the cancun section: “Location: This beachside hotel is located in the hotel [ZONE]. Also, Xel-Ha amd Xcaret are a *little* further than 3.5 miles from the Hyatt! 🙂
@ Jason, thanks for catching that! Both errors have been fixed. The hotel site lists the distance as 2.5 and 3.5 miles respectively, but you are right. Google maps shows it to be 5 and 7 miles.
Huh? Xcaret is 81km from Cancun, down in Playa Del Carmen. I guess it’s irrelevant since there is no more Hyatt Cancun, but 7 miles from Playa to Xcaret sounds right. Will be nice when the Zilara comes in.
The Arch is no where near as close as that picture makes it look!
Delightful post, yet needs an updating. Unfortunately, Hyatt Regency Cancun no longer exists. Back in April, it became the Hyatt Krystal Punta Cancun. (different chain) Hyatt does have the new all inclusive Zilara in Cancun — though that takes a LOT more points. http://www.hotelchatter.com/story/2014/4/9/121418/2031/hotels/Hyatt_Regency_Cancun_Will_Change_into_the_Krystal_Punta_Cancun_on_May_1
