Hyatt Paris Madeleine (Paris, France)
It’s not as fancy as the Park Hyatt Paris Vendome and you won’t run into Lady Gaga in the hallway, but the Hyatt Paris Madeleine is still a very nice hotel. That wraps it up for the Hyatt Gold Passport Redemption series. If there are any properties you’ve stayed at that you think deserve recognition, I’d love your feedback in the comment section.
Be sure to also check out my Club Carlson series to find the best redemption values across the Club Carlson portfolio.
I’m sure I’m not the only one who’d pick Kauai over Maui – Kauai would be the top tier with Carmel & PH Aviara, Maui would be in with the next tier down – with Beaver Creek the much-improved Huntington Beach & Tahoe.
Thanks for your feedback, James! The Park Hyatt Aviara is actually a Category 5 hotel now.
Ah yes – forgot about the cat 5 move. Looks as if the highly anticipated Andaz on Maui may eclipse all the domestic US properties for a while after it opens and the opening jitters are worked out.
Another vote for the Grand Hyatt Kauai over Regency Maui. No comparison…
Thanks for sharing, Rodney. I’ve heard the Hyatt Kuai described as a “glorified country inn & suites,” so it got bumped off the top spot. Good to know some folks here consider it better than the Hyatt Regency.
Could not agree more about choosing the GH Kauai over the HR Maui. Also, you cannot use points to upgrade to a suite from an obstructed view room. Hyatt Gold Passport terms and conditions require you to book at least a partial ocean view or better in order to be eligible to upgrade to a suite via points. You can, however, use a Diamond suite upgrade certificate to upgrade (for up to 7 nights) at the obstructed view rate (or an rate for that matter).
