But even if you opt to pay for flights and hotels, it can end up being way cheaper than attending a North American concert. Plus, you can score better seats.

Why the Eras Tour is such a big deal

Since it launched a year ago, Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour has become the adult equivalent of Frozen: a never-ending obsession that many people are sick of hearing about, while others can’t get enough. Due to overwhelming demand, tickets in the U.S. sold out quickly and prices have since skyrocketed.

How much are Eras Tour tickets?

Cheap Eras Tour tickets to U.S. shows start at around $2,000 per person. These prices might drop closer to the concert date or they may go up.

Eras tour tickets in Europe cost as low as $50 and you can get floor seats for under $200 at some shows. Flying to Europe for a show might end up being cheaper, since you can save on airfare and hotels using points and miles.

Where to buy Eras Tour tickets at face value

The fan-run Eras Tour Resell account on Twitter connects fans who want to attend the Eras Tour with sellers willing to sell the tickets at face value.

How it works: Whenever resell tickets become available, the account announces it and collects prospective buyers’ information via a Google form. They then randomly select a person and connects them with the seller. The aim is merely to connect Swifties with reputable buyers, cut out the middle man and avoid price gouging. They account has been running since November 2022 and has not yet had any issues.

How payments work: The Eras Tour Resell account isn’t involved in handling payments. Instead, they recommend buyers send the money via PayPal to ensure their purchase is protected.

How to avoid getting scammed: It’s important to note that PayPal allows you to send payments “to friends and family” – don’t choose this option. While it reduces fees, it doesn’t protect your purchase. Always choose the “pay for services or merchandise” option.

What it cost: The account doesn’t charge any fees. They do however take voluntary $5 donations from grateful followers.

Why you should travel abroad for the Eras Tour

Since I traveled to Singapore for the Eras Tour, I can attest that the show is phenomenal. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to be awed and entertained – regardless of your status as a Swiftie.

If you can’t stomach paying thousands of dollars to see her North American show, Europe is a more affordable option. Tickets cost as little as $100, and you can knock down the price further by strategically using shopping portals and discount sites.

Here’s why you should travel to Europe for the Eras Tour:

Cheap Eras Tour tickets in Europe

Tickets to U.S. Eras Tour shows are marked up astronomically. The cheapest show is in Indianapolis, where tickets cost over $2,000 on StubHub.

The cheapest Eras Tour tickets in North America start at $1126 for the Vancouver show on Dec. 6, 2024. These are nosebleed seats, which are outrageously priced.

If you’re looking for the coveted floor seats, those will set you back at least $3600. Factor in another 20% or so in ticketing fees and you’re looking at nearly $4,500 for a slightly obstructed floor seat.

For this price, you can get floor seats to a European show and sometimes even cover and airfare. If you use points for travel, you can cut your costs down to just a fraction of the price.

You might get better seats (and free swag)

I got cheap Eras tour tickets by traveling to Singapore

Eras Tour tickets are cheaper in Europe and you’ll get better seats for the money. You can even get bargain prices on VIP seats, which include early entry and a VIP box.

Each box contains a tote bag, lanyard, commemorative ticket, posters, and other knick knacks. You can even skip the long lines for tour merchandise, which is notoriously low quality. The lines for VIP boxes are shorter, and the items are much nicer (and free).

It’s worth mentioning that the desired “floor” section for most European stops is standing-room-only. There are also age restrictions around who can be in the floor section. These “seats” are also first-come-first-serve, so your proximity to the stage depends on how early you arrive at the arena.

In South America, fans had camped out months in advance to scoop up the best seats. So, just remember that having a floor seat doesn’t always mean being close to the stage, which can be problematic if you’re on the shorter side, like me.

Experience the revamped setlist

If you missed a previous U.S. show, here’s some good news: The European leg of the Eras Tour has a revamped setlist, including seven songs from The Tortured Poet’s Department.

Based on YouTube clips, the new segment looks incredible. There’s now a moving stage, updated outfits, and lighting effects to get fans riled up.

While the new setlist will be included in U.S. tour stops, you can enjoy the show from better seats at a lower price by traveling to Europe.

You can make a vacation out of it

Large hotel pool with cabanas to the left and palm trees ahead

By traveling to Europe for the Eras tour, you’ll not only save money and potentially score better seats – you can turn the whole thing into a mini-vacation. You can enjoy the beautiful summer weather while traveling to other cities or countries. Yes, Europe is expensive in the summer. But that also means you can put your points and miles to good use.

Europe has plenty of low-category hotels where you can stretch your Hyatt and Hilton points further. In cities with astronomical hotel prices, you can get excellent value by redeeming free night awards from your hotel credit cards.

You might also find local businesses offering discounts to concertgoers. When I landed in Singapore, a local rideshare company advertised 15% off rides for the week. Other cities provide similar hospitality discounts for concertgoers, so you’ll want to be on the lookout at the airport.

When I flew to Singapore for the Eras tour in March, I worked in a trip to Phuket and Seoul. It was an incredible experience and didn’t cost us much more. Flights within Asia were relatively cheap, hotels reasonably priced and we had the best time in Seoul (which is highly underrated as a food destination).

If you can attend an Eras Tour concert for less and get a vacation out of it, I highly recommend you go for it.

It’s a more immersive experience

The Eras Tour isn’t just about seeing Taylor Swift perform her greatest hits on stage. Part of the fun is connecting with other Swifties and partaking in traditions like trading friendship bracelets. Traveling abroad for the Eras Tour is an even more immersive experience.

When I flew United Airlines to Singapore, they played Taylor’s albums on the IFEs and during de-planing. It was a great way to get into the spirit of the event.

Singapore was decked out in Eras tour regalia. The Marina Bay Sands Hotel and the Singapore Flyer turned pink and purple every night. The Marina Bay Sands had a Taylor Swift exhibit throughout the mall, consisting of themed items from her different eras, including the Folklore piano and various guitars.

The Spectra Light Show at Merlion Park adopted a Taylor Swift theme, with “Cruel Summer” playing in the background. Swifties swarmed the place, taking in the festivities. Cities hosting the Eras tour really get into the spirit of things, making it a fun and immersive experience for fans.

How to save money on Eras Tour tickets

Buying cheap Eras Tour tickets is possible, thanks to resell websites like Vivid Seats and Subhub. In addition to finding more affordable tickets in Europe, you can save extra cash by following a few tips.

Use a cash back portal

You can save money on your tickets by first clicking through a shopping portal. Use an aggregator like Cashback Monitor to search for the highest cash back and point rates.

Booking platforms that partner with shopping portals include StubHub, Vivid Seats, Ticombo, and TicketCity. Here’s a list of the highest-paying shopping portals for each ticketing platform:

  • StubHub: 10% cash back on through TopCashBack
  • Vivid Seats: 3% cash back via Citi Bonus Cash Center
  • Ticombo: 5.4% cash back via MaxRebates
  • TicketCity: 6% cash back via Rebates Me

Note: I’ll earn a $50 referral bonus if you sign up for TopCashBack with my link and earn at least $10 cash back.

Check credit card merchant offers

You might also want to check your credit card for special ticket discounts. For example, Amex Offers sometimes has discounts on StubHub purchases. You can stack these offers with shopping portal discounts for extra savings. You might also want to check out Citi Merchant Offers and Chase Merchant Offers for similar deals.

Use the right credit card

To be safe, I’d also recommend purchasing your tickets with a credit card with purchase and return protection. A few examples include the Chase Sapphire Reserve® or Amex EveryDay® Preferred Credit Card. This way, you’re protected if the ticketing platform takes too long to handle scams or outright refuses to resolve the matter.

In addition, you can save money on Eras Tour tickets by signing up for a credit card and using the welcome bonus to cover travel expenses. For example, the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card’s elevated welcome bonus offers $1,000 in combined value: 75,000 points after you spend $4,000 within three months of account opening, plus a $250 Capital One Travel credit.

You can get the card, use it to pay for your travel and then redeem Capital One miles towards any remaining travel costs. You have up to 90 days from the purchase date to offset your travel costs with miles. That gives you plenty of time to earn the Venture card welcome bonus and apply it towards your tip.

Note: I’ll earn 10,000 bonus points if you sign up for the Chase Sapphire Reserve with my referral link. I’ll also earn 20,000 miles if you use my Capital One Venture Rewards link. Thanks for your support!

Ireland is stunning. The people I encountered were friendly, and the food was incredible. For a small fee, you can also rent a car in Northern Ireland and see two countries on one trip.

  1. Any idea of when Dublin releases official resale tickets on ticketmaster? It’s actually illegal to scalp tickets in Dublin, and none are listed for resale currently.

    1. I wouldn’t count on that happening. But you can buy them from reputable resale sites, which offer a guarantee. Plus, your credit card will probably cover fraudulent transactions if the tickets turn out to be fake.

  2. Hi Ariana,

I’m so glad that you are BAAACK on Pointchaser!! I have missed you. And what a great article. Thank you.
