Whether you’ve been in this game for a while or are fairly new, you’ve probably heard of the Chicago Seminars. It’s an annual points and miles conference organized by Rick Ingersoll (founder of Frugal Travel Guy) and Howie Rappaport. This year’s event takes place the weekend of October 20, 2017, at the Holiday Inn Elk Grove Village, which is a 15-minute drive from Chicago O’Hare Airport.
I’ve attended the Chicago Seminars three out of the last five years and it’s always a fun gathering where I catch up with old friends and meet readers, bloggers, and everyone in between.
I’ll be back again, this year hosting a Hilton Honors breakout session. While I’m there, I was thinking of also organizing a reader meet-up; either on-site or somewhere in the city. We’ll see, but if you have any ideas, feel free to share them in the comment section.
To stay up to date on this topic, be sure to follow me on Twitter (#ChicagoSeminars) and Snapchat. I’ll use these channels to provide updates about meet-ups and share snaps from the actual event (minus the presentations, which we’re not allowed to film).
If you haven’t purchased your ticket to the Chicago Seminars, they are still available for $105. The price includes admission to all events, airport shuttle, Lunch on Saturday and Sunday, and coffee/snacks during breaks. You can see the full schedule and get hotel booking info on the Chicago Seminars Flyertalk page.
And don’t make the same mistake I repeated two years in a row – bring your Chase Ink Plus Card! There’s an Office Depot across the street and why not get some manufactured spending done while you’re in the neighborhood?
I’m personally looking forward to the session titled Lessons From a Shutdown and Arbitration. That’s something I got a lot of questions about during last weekend’s webinars. If you’ll be at the event, you’ll want to check this out too.
Will you be at the Chicago Seminars this year? Who are you looking forward to hearing speak? (Correct answer: Me! 😜)
YES, I will be there.
I will be there. Please post an update about meet ups
Will do!
Typo: “15 drive” in first paragraph. Gonna guess you mean 15 minutes, unless if you take the long way around Lake Michigan.
Yes. Thank you!
I’ll be attending
