Update: As of November 17, 2015 the Hawaiin Airlines MileFinder’s search function has been discontinued.
Last month, I wrote about how the Hawaiian Airlines Toolbar lets you earn up to 5,000 miles per month for using its search bar. Hawaiian has revamped its toolbar, calling it the MileFinder, and earnings are now capped at 1,000 miles per month. This is obviously a huge downgrade, but it’s still higher than the standard 100 miles per month offered by other toolbars.
This new mileage cap isn’t going to make much of a difference for me. I use the toolbar mostly for normal searching, which earns me around 1,000 miles per month. If I find myself with time on my hands for additional searching, I can do so under a family member’s account. You can still earn 5,000 miles per month – the points will just have to be spread out among five accounts instead of one. Simply log out of the toolbar and log back in as a different user.
On a positive note, Hawaiian is giving away 80,000 HawaiianMiles and a whopping 6 gift cards. Each qualifying search made through November 29 earns you an entry. Six gitcards for hundreds of thousands of members to compete for. Super generous, Hawaiian…
Will the new mileage cap affect your search activity? Will you stick it out long enough to earn entries for the contest?
Can u tell me how to download this tool bar for my iPad. I downloaded chrome but keep getting an error message when I try to download the toolbar.
@ Dianne, unfortunately I’m not sure if its compatible with iPad. I would email customer service for help.
