World of Hyatt cardholders earn 9x points at Mr & Mrs Smith hotels

World of Hyatt has unveiled the latest step in integrating Mr & Mrs Smith Hotels into its portfolio. Starting today, World of Hyatt credit cardholders will earn a total of 9 points per dollar spent on Mr & Mrs Smith hotels booked through Hyatt. This bonus is available to members with both a personal World of Hyatt Credit Card and The World of Hyatt Business Credit Card.

The 9X rewards rate breaks down as follows:

  • World of Hyatt members earn 5 Base Points per $1 spent on room rates at participating Mr & Mrs Smith hotels booked through Hyatt channels.
  • Cardmembers will now earn an additional 4 Bonus Points per $1 USD spent on room rates when paid with their World of Hyatt Credit Card.

To earn 9X points at Mr & Mrs Smith hotels, simply book your stay via the Hyatt website and pay for it with your Hyatt credit card. The promotion is available to both personal and business Hyatt cardholders.

This is the same bonus Hyatt credit cardholders earn on other Hyatt stays. So why is this relevant? Since Mr & Mrs Smith joined World of Hyatt in April 2024, its participation in the program has been limited. Because of the dynamic pricing structure, using points at Mr & Mrs Smith properties isn’t always a good value proposition.

However, being able to earn points is the main benefit because it allows Hyatt members access to a vast portfolio of unique properties where they otherwise wouldn’t earn points. Which brings me to my next point:

It’s important to note that not all Mr & Mrs Smith properties are participating in the World of Hyatt program. In fact, Hyatt members can earn and redeem points at around 700 properties out of over 1,500. In addition, these properties are not included in Hyatt’s standard award chart. Instead, award night rates are determined by paid rates

  • Mr & Mrs Smith bookings earn points and elite night credits when booked via World of Hyatt.
  • Mr & Mrs Smith bookings count towards Brand Explorer awards.
  • Award nights at Mr & Mrs Smith are dynamically priced and reports indicate redemption rates under 1.5 cents per point.
  • You can’t redeem a free night award from the World of Hyatt credit card at Mr & Mrs Smith hotels.
  • World of Hyatt elite members are not entitled to elite benefits at Mr & Mrs Smith properties. However, some properties may offer room upgrades to Globalist members.
  • Mr & Mrs Smith hotels booked through Hyatt may not always provide the lowest rates. You’ll want to compare them against the hotel website before booking.
  • Hyatt’s Best Rate Guarantee doesn’t apply to Mr & Mrs Smith bookings.

How to maximize this offer

This promotion can be very lucrative if you have an upcoming Mr & Mrs Smith hotel stay. Hyatt elite members qualify for an extra 10-30% bonus, depending on status level.

  • Hyatt Globalist: 30% bonus points
  • Hyatt Explorist: 20% bonus points
  • Hyatt Discoverist: 10% bonus points

Additionally, you might want to keep a lookout for discounts and bonus points through programs like Amex Offers and Chase Offers. In the past, we’ve seen both programs offer discounts on Hyatt stays. You’ll want to check the terms to ensure Mr & Mrs Smith stays qualify for these offers.

Bottom line

Overall, the World of Hyatt credit card bonus is a p. It allows World of Hyatt credit cardholders to earn nearly double the usual number of Hyatt points. While redeeming Hyatt points for Mr & Mrs Smith hotels may not always be the best value, you can put these elevated points to good use elsewhere.

Contrary to popular belief, Mr & Mrs Smith’s portfolio doesn’t just consist of high-end luxury resorts. There are plenty of budget-friendly hotels with rates under $100 per night. Staying at these affordable properties and still earning Hyatt points is incredibly valuable.
