This weekend, Club Carlson will be implementing several changes to the program. That includes award chart adjustments, a new top-tier category requiring 70,000 points per night, the elimination of a Global Concierge line, and changes to the elite earning structure. As I explained previously, the changes are not all bad. Members will be able to earn elite night credit on award stays, and there will be an option for “premium room” redemptions. Since Club Carlson already offers a Premium Room redemption option, this likely refers to suite redemptions.

If you have an upcoming award stay at a Club Carlson hotel, be sure to check whether your hotel is on the list of properties moving to a different category. If the hotel is moving up, you have until Saturday, March 15 to book your stay at the previous level. However, if it’s moving down, see if you can rebook at the new level or if Club Carlson will refund the difference in points. Below is an outline of all the upcoming category changes:
