A lot of you guys are using cash back portals to save money while shopping online, but did you know lots of merchants out there offer cash back on gift card purchases? This is a great way to stack savings on personal purchases or reselling.
Adam from Yazing recently sent me a list of all the merchants that qualify for cash back on gift card purchases. Yazing doesn’t offer all of them, but they are working on adding them.
Notable Merchants
Of note are merchants like 1-800-Flowers and CruiseDirect, which offer generous payouts that can be stacked for additional savings. For example, 1-800-Flowers currently offers 14% cash back on Yazing – double dip by buying a gift card and you’ll save even more! CruiseDirect offers 10% cash back on gift cards, which is pretty significant since you’d otherwise limit yourself to just 3.5% on cruise bookings.

Great article.
Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
i didn’t get this .. what does 1-800-FLOWERS give cash back for? only for 1-800-FLOWERS gift cards?
Yes. So if you’re ordering something, you can double dip through the cash back portal by using it to buy a gift card and then the actual item.
I cant find 10% back from cruise direct when buying gift cards. Can you go into more detail?
Thanks
I looked but couldn’t find this either.
If their payout rate is currently 10%, it applies to both travel bookings and gift card purchases.
Dude, the cruise deals are pretty sweet! I just checked, they have some awesome 14 day transatlantic cruises that come out to $50/day per person before applying any 10% gift card discount. There are also some really cheap Caribbean and Alaska cruises. I’m typically not much of a cruise person but a 14 day transatlantic, and then backpacking around europe for the summer, and then use UR to fly back home for free? Sounds pretty good to me 🙂 Cruise Direct also appears to be hiring work from home customer service reps if anyone is interested.
Wow, thanks for sharing! It wasn’t on my radar as a travel booking site but I’ll check it out if the deals are that good.
I wonder if CSR would give 3x UR on the CruiseDirect GC’s?
If they qualify them as a travel merchant, they most certainly will.
Ariana do you know if TPM would buy, or if there is any other good market for these Cruise Direct GC’s?
They’re not currently listed on TPM’s website, but they do solicit suggestions, so I’m going to recommend they start carrying these.
Odd. I don’t see any of the sites I routinely buy gift cards from, that I in fact get rewards from other portals. newegg for example earns on TCB, Splender and others, though not on newegg GCs/eGCs but isn’t listed here. Best Buy earns on several sites but isn’t listed here, etc. Not sure why I should take note of this list honestly.
