There’s a joke out there about points and miles bloggers doing this to “help friends and family” as opposed to getting a piece of the credit card affiliate pie. I’m sticking to my guns on this because helping friends and family was literally the reason I started blogging (and because I needed a creative outlet where I could write about what I loved and take out some of my aggression and snarkiness, stemming from the fact that I hated my job).
In keeping with that theme, I thought I’d share a deal that came out last week but that I didn’t write about because my the time I got around to it, I was sure most of you had already read about it. The last thing I wanted to do was write the 1000th “me too!” post (evidenced by the perpetual lack of content on my blog).
So why am I covering it now? I just learned that about 30 of my relatives will be flying to India this December for a wedding. They all need a place to stay and, in breaking with Afghan tradition, would prefer it to be a hotel rather than a family member’s house. The first thing that came to mind was Hyatt’s “Monsoon Flash Offer.”
Through August 15, Hyatt is offering a 50% discount on hotel bookings at Hyatt hotels in India. These discounted rates are good for stays between August 1 – October 31, 2014 and December 16 – January 10, 2015. The following properties are participating in this promotion:
- Hyatt Regency Delhi
- Hyatt Regency Gurgaon
- Park Hyatt Hyderabad
- Hyatt Hyderabad Gachibowli
- Hyatt Raipur
- Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa
- Hyatt Ahmedabad
- Hyatt Bangalore MG Road
- Grand Hyatt Goa
- Hyatt Place Hampi
- Hyatt Amritsar
- Park Hyatt Chennai
- Hyatt Regency Ludhiana
- Hyatt Regency Chennai
- Grand Hyatt Mumbai
- Hyatt Regency Kolkata
- Hyatt Regency Mumbai
- H. Regency Pune
Rather than message 30 relatives scattered around the world individually, I thought it would be much more prudent to share this through my blog. And if they overpay for hotel accommodations come December, I will finally know who is actually reading my blog and who just hits “like” on my Facbeook posts. 😉
If you’re heading to India this winter, you’re covered with pretty hefty discounts at some amazing Hyatt hotels. Don’t forget to sign up for a Hyatt Diamond trial to save on essentials like breakfast, club lounge access, and wifi. And if you’re a relative of mine reading this, I’ve got a dozen credit cards that can easily cover $50,000 in airfare and hotel expenses…
If they’re gonna do a Monsoon Flash, Hyatt might as well do a Typhoon Flash for the rest of Asia. I can’t believe I didn’t see that.
That would make sense, especially since all the other chains are currently running discount promotions throughout Asia.
